Chinese Rods & Pistons

I get quite a few emails from various parts suppliers in China looking for distributors and/or sales and most are fairly basic in their description. Usually they go straight to the deleted folder but this one supplied quite a lot more info than most. I've attaced their brochures here.

We talk about their poor quality but I'm curious to know if these guys are any better than the others. I'm not interested in buying anything but am curious how their specs compare to a top quality US or UK rod.

What do people think?

Paper specs are a splendid thing.

Product can be something else.

Piston volumes are low for a production engine.

Oh, sponsorship is a great way to promote a product.

They give ample funds, we see if product lives up to paper specs.

one way to find out if they are any good, is to let me have a go at revving the tits off them
i could be the quality control officer .
the only thing i am scared of is those stupid rev limiters

All looks OK.

Only way to be sure is to obtain products and physically audit them.

Dimensional checks for maching accuracy, spectrometer for chemistry, cut sections under a microscope for grain flow and hardness testing for heat treatment and shot peening.
I cannot see how making a garden variety 4340 con rod or piston is hard if there is a known succesful sample to copy. It's the design that is difficult so if these blokes are not trying to make light weight stuff and are tooled up it should be easy.

The best rods are made from material other than 4340 anyway.

I suppose if I was doing it I'd use known quantity pistons and rods for comparison and make sure the tests were blind.

Hope quality control is better than their printers.... can't say I've seen many Ford Pinto 5.0 engines kicking about......

I like the e-mail addresses too. I dont trust hotmail accounts at the best of time and especially If im sending them money for an unseen untested product.
