All the steelwork finished . The trench is in with conduits for the power, wiring in the next few weeks.

I have 9m x 21m. Painted floor white with a bunnings garage floor sealer. White is good, reflects light well, easy to clean, though when wet is slippery as hell!

If I did it again I'd get a pro to do a non slip surface.

I have 10x5 pool table, home brew keg set up, office, 12m shelving along a wall - pallet racking 600mm wide shelves (worth it's weight in gold), workshop of sorts, car parking for several cars, oh and a big arse old stereo to keep neighbours awake. I put heaps of power points and one 15a plug at the workshop end and lots of Lights.

Plans call for a bar, slot car setup (new digital setup is very cool).

Regrets of my shed:

*Did not have 3 phase
*only 3.5 m high roof - should have been higher to take full advantage - car hoist
*should have been wider than 9m
*have two roller doors on front (9m). Should have got one big one - pain in the bum reversing car trailer into shed.
*built shed around a tree trying to be nice to enviro - ended up cutting tree down as it filled gutters with crap. Ended up compromising what I wanted, still a good shed.

So, another thread of mine which hasn't been updated in a while The next phase of the shed build has begun. Half of the lower area was always earmarked as a mezzanine floor/ spray booth. I now need the extra storage space quite urgently so the mez floor is being built, keeping in mind the requirements of the spray booth below. Most of the main structure will be a bunch of 'ex stock' 125x75x3 Duragal RHS. A set of steps up against the eastern wall will lead up to a shelved storage area, then an open area (for now) and finally onto the area for the spray booth exhaust fan.

The first section with the steps was made on the ground and I lifted it up thisarvo. There's still a bit of steelwork to go into it for shelving and to house the inlet filter for the spraybooth. Hopefully I'll have a fair chunk of it finished tomorrow and then move it to its final location in the corner.

A bit more progress, the first unit is in place and bolted down. Working on the second portal frame now, got the 2 columns finished and all the cleats made for attaching the flooring purlins.

Finished making the second frame yesterday and lifted it in place thismorning. Welded in the end beams and bolted in the purlins. Had to move all the crap from the other end of the shed to start on the last 2 frames. Lots of shelving to be designed for upstairs as well as something to hold the doors/bonnets and other body panels. Probably need a winch and davit to haul the heavier stuff up there too.

Getting there now. Most of the frame is up, just have to 're-move' some stuff out of the way and bolt in the rest of the purlins. Off to buy some sheeting for the floor in the morning.

The main beam spans 2 of the bays to allow better access to the area underneath. It was made flat on the ground and lifted into place. All the remaining tie beams are now welded in place.

The first stage is now pretty much complete, the frame's up and I've got some floorboards down. More shelving to be designed for the upstairs area soon.

Anywho, the first set of shelves is mostly complete, got busy with some other things now so i don't know when i'll get back to the rest of it...
