205 Block Eligibility

Just a thought...wouldnt a UK Ford Dealer be able to email you a screen shot showing multi supercessions from the old block to the new block? I use Subaru Fast on a daily basis and any original part number that has been superceeded shows a step by step supercession list to the current part number which could easily be screen dumped.

Microcat does have these supersession lists which is what I had posted a pic of earlier. I might try your idea of contacting a Ford dealer. The real issue is that Microcat never had the older Ford stuff in it. I therefore think I need to trawl through old Microfiche sheets

I know this argument can be made to CAMS as I know that Danny M has done it before.

I've read through this thread and your thread on bmsc and not trying to be smart or anything, but if you don't plan on running at the front as you say, why are you doing your head in with all this?

Unless your planning a big boost turbo or a 2.4l grunter, a 195 block will be fine.

On the 2.4l front though, Gerald Schofield built a 2.4l warrior headed pinto for his (now sold) Cossac replica. I wonder what block he used.....or if he'd tell you.

I have an engine that uses a 205 block. If I was to build a new engine I would not bother with a 205 but I am stuck with one.

Also, there are "people/person" who will dob me in to the officials....given!

funny you mention that. i spoke to a cams scrut today who suggested that other people do that!! I am too honest.
