Had this sent to me this morning with a title of "Do you reckon this will polish out?"

Unfortunately you would have to think this car is now cactus, which is a shame it was a nice car.

Oran Park V8 Supercar Race (5-7 December 2008).

Don't know much more than that. Don't even know how the driver is.

The driver was apparently Jake Williams in one of the genuine Group C cars. Hope he is OK, does anyone have any information? That is really nasty, but fortunately on the passengers side mostly.

Good to hear he is ok. Not good news about the car though.
Why wasn't the older cars shown on the TV? It was supposed to be a last hurrah for Oran Park.

It wasn't on TV because other categories pay a higher fee to have their category telecast. This in turn (theorectically) gets sponsors to come on board because they will get 'air time' when their car is running in the top 3.

Over on the 10-tenths forum there was a thread about Oran Park with Group C scheduled to run at about 5.30pm for some demonstration laps (just in case they actually race and make the main game look like a procession - which it is).

I've never seen so much interest in a car running in 13th place (Sorry Skaifey) as what was on TV on Sunday. But here's a note to Channel 7 - there is actual racing happening down the pack that makes for better entertainment then talking up a 3 sec gap to 2nd place (that stretches out to 10 sec without the intervention of the safety car).

Now I've vented my spleen I can go back into my hole.
