Convert early Mk1 rear shocks to later Mk2 style

Postby Chuff » Tue Oct 30, 2012 7:51 pm

Hey all,

I've got an early Mk1 Escort with the 45 degree rear shocks and was thinking of cutting out the rear shock mounting panel from a Mk2 Escort and fitting it to my car and running the later more upright Mk2 shock.

Has anyone done this conversion, or have any advice or opinions?

Thanks.

was a pretty easy conversion, alignment was pretty easy as the panel just fits one way...wish I had been lighter on the welding as its to come out for a 6 link conversion next.

Cheers

Excellent! Just what I wanted to hear.

Now to find someone with a donor Mk2 Escort.

Thanks Justin.
