AGM Batteries

Ok guys a bit of help

the old optima yellow top looks as thou it has died in the rally car...

not wanting to get into a huge discussion, I'm no expert on Batteries

A Varley red top (I have seen that Danny has recommened theses before)
Racer Industries have PowerVamp which look the same as Varley????
RaceParts australia also have Full river
or go for another Optima

Now my question is - out of these AGM batteries are they all basically the same and are PowerVamp really Varley?

I'm interested in this too. My project is getting to the point where i need a battery and it would be interesting to hear what people think.

Scott, its one of them arguments that can go on forever when talking about batteries. personal choice and price rules here "I" think. My choice for the escort on Dannys word was the Varley only because of weight and price and it has never let me down. I also run 2 optimas in my 4wd diesel ute with one a dedicated winch Batt and they have been in there for years. But i have heard the new optimas arnt as good as the older ones. The other 2 you mention i have no knowledge off.

my local autosport store tried to sell me a Velo race battery. I am sure it is just a rebranded 'other' type but they seem small and a reasonable price. Absolutely no experience with them though. As said before, batteries can perhaps get a little emotive....

I've had a 'Deka' brand battery in mine for about 6 years now...it has been good and is quite small. One thing to remember with AGM batteries is you cant let them sit while discharged, always run a trickle charger when not in use.
