Freight From US of A

Anybody got a good freight company to ship stuff from USA to here? Trying to buy a Peterson oil tank but the refight is stoopid!! (still makes it cheaper than buying from Rocket though!!!!!)

Trying to do google searches but I like to use people that people have had good results with.

PS - i am at work so do not have access to the websites I have bookmarked at home

Last time i bought stuff from Summit I made the mistake of choosing Fedex and got hit with a heap of extra fees charges that I've never had before. I've had stuff delivered UPS with no problems, even DHL but the sender has always organised it. Keep the order below $1000 might help in avoiding extra charges.

I've got some ARP gear coming from the states via DHL. I'll post here and let you know how it goes.
I've had no problems with TNT Airfreight either but thats out of England through Burton's

Thanks guys. Sat here trying to find some online quoting systems but can only find a few.

I've had loads of stuff come from GRP4 Fab in Ireland but one particular time I got hit with additional quarantine charges. Apparently customs randomly select consignments for additional checking that the consignee has to pay for!!!!!!

How big is the tank? Best why i've found of getting gear out of the US is through USPS. I've also used DHL and UPS. Just remember that everything out of the US at the moment is slow on account of that explosives scare in the Middle East a few months ago. Parcels that used to take 5-7 days are now taking around 14.

the usps website says a JAZ 22 gallon fuel cell is US$425!!! Ouch....I did get a quote from JMS Motorsport for US$225 though.

I have not used them myself but is a freight forwarder an option? My wife has purchased goods from the US and used this service.

Some US based companies do not ship worldwide so the only way is to have them sent to a local freight forwarder who then post it to the international destination. This is especially efficient as some companies also offer free domestic post :-)

Not sure if this is suitable but may be an option.

defo keep it under a $1000au or they will hold the package till you pay extra $$$
I got my EFI parts from UK last year and paid $290extra on $1500 that was with UPS
Im pretty sure they charged me on the freight as well as it was sent as a total sum.
try to pay by Credit card as doing via exchange cost money as well.

I found them through some ad material that came with one of my credit card statements. If HSBC trust them they can't be all bad.

yes i have read on the internob that bank credit cards seem to regularly be linked to them. maybe I will take a deep breath and do it next time i order something.

Sounds worthwhile just for the fact you dont need to find an aussie reseller to tack on that extra $$$ for nothing.
