Cause, with points, after the first spark, its all down hill, performance wise, after that.

Both of electronic shown are magnet activated so moisture will not affect them.

Trust me,.... these are a positive modification, over points.

as far as weather proof goes, electronic ignition is no more waterproof than points as most water problems occur on the HT side of the ign system which is the same for both types...however, if the small in dissy Pertronix module is well made and water tight then the low tension triggering side of the ign system could well work underwater! Replacing a wearing set of contact points, contact being the operative word with a magnetically operated non-contact switch can only be a good thing. Most engines start better with electronic ign in any weather condition because the low side is not so affected at all due to moisture or volt drop issues like points can be.

No many production cars running points anymore...they got that bit right at least.

At the end of the day if you are happy with what you have got and it works for you, then stick with it. For me i just want "set and forget!" that is the advantage for me...
