I don't know the car or owner, however anyone who comments on the value of cars are pissing in the wind. The car would undoubtedly cost more to build and then it's simply worth what someone would pay on any given day. the fact that a person on a forum wouldn't pay that feels irrelavant. How much is your car worth?

Just going on what my mates are paying in the UK mate......and offering an opinion on what I would pay if I had the money which I don't!

Haven't got a clue what my car is worth because its not up for sale and it's not finished....but judging what they are going for in Ireland and the UK about $30k probably....

Mark a lot of poms still put those pumps and stuff in their car no matter whether it's historic or not as they can be pretty one eyed about things same as sticking with a ZF and Atlas, but then again unless I had to I wouldn't stick a BDG in my car anyway as I have everything bar an alloy block and crank but they don't make enough grunt

You're preaching to the converted mate but what tends to happen in the UK is people listen to past generations about techniques that served them well....if I listened to my dad I'd still be driving around in a 1275 Mini with a 649cam and a big webber when any modern standard 1300 euro hatch would eat it for breakfast! An Atlas is a good example as although they are as old as the ark...there are still a lot of very fast Escorts rallying in the UK and Ireland serving that need very well, so although there are alot newer stronger diffs out there, why change if they are a commodity item and are proven?

I own thoughts are 'each to there own' but I still stand by my opinion that the more authentic the historic competition car the higher the price, no matter how stupid that is....
