Mk2 2 Litre Auto 4 Door Ghia - **SOLD**

Hi all,

My mother’s neighbour is doing a big garage clean out and he has a Mk2 Escort 4 door Ghia with 2 litre and auto trans that has to go.

The car is silver and bog stock. From memory it is a bit of a time warp car and very tidy – I think it was originally a Canberra based car. A minor clean was started around eighteen years ago, with the front and rear screens being popped out, the vinyl roof removed and the C pillars repaired. That’s as far as he got with it and the car has been sitting in his garage untouched ever since.

I believe the repairs have some surface rust on them now but they should clean up O.K. Give it a coat of paint, pop the screens back in and throw in some new carpet (the original carpet ended up in one of my cars about fourteen years ago!) and you’ll have a complete, running and very tidy Mk2. It’s rolling on steel wheels and also comes with a set of 13inch polished jelly bean mags. If it were a viable option, I’d take it myself without hesitation.

As it stands, he just wants it gone (to the wreckers for all he cares), but his wife wants it to go to a good home (it was meant to be her little cruiser). It is WAY too good for the wreckers, so I’m hoping someone will take it on.

They’re not expecting much for it – it’s basically a pay-what-you-think-it’s-worth sale to save it from scrap. I’d hand over $500 without hesitation, but that’s just me. If nobody takes it, I'll be up there at Easter so as a last resort I'll pop the screens back in, put it on a truck to Vic and work out what to do with it later!

The car is located in Terranora, NSW – 10mins south of Coolangatta/Tweed Heads – and in its current state will need to be trailered.
