I spoke to the guy selling it the other day and he wants $120 000 for it. Abit rich for me considering he had it for sale this time last year for $85 000. Would be a great car to get your hands on though.

Jim paid $32k when he bought it off Harvey and hasn't done that much with it and as far as needing a lot done thats not the case as the shell had the regular resto as well as the drivetrain and no Steve it wouldn't give a current car a run as my single cam would have beaten it when I was in the car when Harvey got it on the road

Am I right in saying that this is the car the wreck of which was for sale in Newcastle quite a few years ago, and which ultimately went to QLD?

The car won the 78 ARC in Greg Carr's hands. colin bond was head of the project, he was contracted by ford to build these cars.
I was told by the owner that the car is a reshell.
its alot of money for a escort, but with the history the thing has i wouldnt rule out somebody paying that for it.

The car has had a number of reshells with the last in competition being by John Berne when it got one Bond's selected shells with the double spot welding
When I last saw it it was alright and good enough for average competition and as good as 'Snoopy" but it's past it's used by date as a front running unit but you wouldn't want anything more as it's more of a museum piece as a good pinto could keep up with them

Yes it's Jim Richards, not sure what other cars he still has though.
Did he end up selling the RS1600 stocker?

Always interesting when these well known cars come up. I thought Harvey and Paul did a fair enough job on it last time when Harvey had it, certainly tidy enough for club competition and Harvey did get a bit of use out of it.
It doesn't look like Jim has done anything to it since he's had it, plenty of rumours floating around at the time that it had been sent up to Pritchards for a re-shell, all a load of rubbish as usual!!!!!
I still remember Harvey driving it at one of our Performance Driving Centre drive days still on Dunlop rally rubber and absolutely throwing it sideways way before each corner...... slow but fun!!!
Ive still got a couple of sets of Dunlops SP52's that he got with the car when he bought it....must drag them out for a khanacross one day.....
Cheers
