Hi all, I have been reading this forum for a little while now so I thought I might put some pictures of my Escort up

Most of these pictures are about a year old, the poor car has been up on stands since February (I am pretty sure it has spent more time on the stands over the last two years than off of them tho) as I have been having problems with poor quality clutches. I now have a Jim Berry clutch waiting to go in (thanks for referring him Danny !) so hopefully that will be the end of that saga.

I have to find an oil leak (which has been proving ellusive so far) and paint up another bonnet (there was an unlatching experience :shock:

) and then I will put it back together.

Hi Damion,

Very very nice Mk2 you have there. Can't beat that WOW factor when you open the bonnet and see that Cossie lump sitting there. And I bet it goes every bit as good as it looks. Can you give us a run down on the mechanical spec of the engine and car?

We'll have to get you down our way one weekend so we can have a good drool over it :grin:

Thanks Nev,

The photos do make it look better than it is, but it's still relatively 'street clean' I suppose.

As far as the mechanical spec goes,
Suspension wise is pretty much the norm for a street escort, I have Koni yellows and kings springs all round, poly bushed, 24mm kmac sway bar, anti dive kit, noltec top mounts, white line strut brace.

Bmw/volvo front brakes, standard master cylinder for now, r31 skyline rear brakes and a shortened 28 spline borg warner diff with a 3.89:1 cone lsd. Toyota W50 gearbox (in hind sight I should have sourced a proper cossie t5 gearbox and used the standard clutch and flywheel - but you live and you learn)

The engine is fairly standard, just freshly rebuilt with arp rod bolts and head studs, grp a head gasket and some mild porting to the head. Turbo is a hi-flowed standard item and its still on the standard weber-marelli management but with a stage 3 chip / green injectors / 3 bar map sensor.

I am eager to get it back on the dyno without a slipping clutch (there have been two to fail so far) to see what sort of power it can make.

I would love to take it down the hill to Brisbane one weekend in the future, I have been eager for a highway run in it for some time ! The last time I drove it on the highway was to go spectate at Mt Cotton in july '05 when it was pinto powered, a chewed cam the following week was the begining of this cosworth saga :roll:

I live in Twmba also, can't say i have seen your car around as i only really drive mine about on weekends. If you do pull up at the lights next to an orange mk2 4 door please go easy as a pinto can only be pushed so far :shock:
