Air Conditioning an Esky

Does anyone have any pictures or tips on putting Airconditioning into a Mark 2 Escort (2 Lt). I've been searching for an Escort Ghia or Cortina that had this from standard so I could transplant the whole lot.
Some tips/myths to clarify:-
Did cars that came from the Factory with Air have the battery in the boot - if so was there a special bracket/location?
The Condenser (or evaporator) on a cortina apparently wraps around the suspension tower - general consensis is this won't fit into an Escort?
What do the interior controls look like (assuming its not an under dash bolt in)?
PS I'm yet to find one, just want to make sure I'm searching for the right thing.
Any info/pics greatly appreciated
