I have found an upholsterer in WA that fixes cracked dashpads by filling holes and then vacuum molding new vinyl. Price for Mk2 is $330. I haven't seen any of their work. Located in Kelmscott.

Am I allowed to use their business name Nev ?

Can anyone comment on workmanship ?

$330 seems a bit expensive, they are cheaper to get done in the UK

It is not that hard to do a reasonable job yourself, if you can get the right grain vinyl, just fill the cracks, then glue the new vnyl on stretching and using a small roller to make sure it sticks down properly, probably worth a go if you have a spare, doesn't cost much.

Nev,

the best one in the UK was Aldridge Trimming, they charge about 45 pounds and it is to retrim your exisitng dash, they do an excellent job, I have a replacement for my MK1 here that I got before I left the UK.

I am sure they would do a deal to trim a box full

but as always the shipping is the problem, especially as it is both ways.

I may be able to get some excellent original used MK2 dash tops sent over though if people want em? I know people who always have a few

I had mine done by Restor-A-Dash in Sydney with good results. Price 10 years ago was $150... probably about $200 now.
