so a bag of dry paving sand might be the go then?

Keep it moving - tick (will not be doing flat areas anyway)

Think I need a new regulator/water separator as after a while it shoots water :evil:

Try some bead if you can find it.

Quite a few years ago now I did some wheels at a friend's place. He had 2 blast cabinets made from ex high-school chem class fume cabinets!. They used the bottom of old milk crates (to rest the parts on) over a hopper to collect the blast bead. One of the cabinets used clean bead and one used 'old' bead. The old beads were used to do the major cleaning, then we finished off with the new stuff. Came out a million $.

If there's some way to contain the blast material, you can reuse it.
