How fat are you?

My Mk1 was 860kg on a set of corner weights about 3 years ago and 890kg recently on the scales at Morgan Park. The general opinion was that the scales at the track were over as everybody's cars were significantly heavier than previously weighed elswhere.

I took my MK2 2 door over a certified weigh bridge this morning to settle my curiousity.

Its a 79 model so it has the big intrusion bars in the doors, the interior is stripped out but it has a full steel cage with cross brace and side intrusion bars.

It also has volvo front calipers and the BMW E30 rotors on the front.

Had about 35 litres of fuel in it and came up at 980kg.

I weighed it on the trailer first to get the over all towing weight which came out at 1600kg exactly. Just as well, the XR6's tow capacity is 1600kg! I then took the Escort off and weighed it on its own.
