As Rocky is the Beef capital of Aust. you'd expect a pretty good steak here. Went out a couple of weeks ago, and I have to admit it was @#$% after the Norman!

Which areas of Brisbane do you folks live then? We keep looking at houses but have no idea of the good and not so good locations.

Have to admit to liking it down towards the Gold Coast though. Anyone live near Highland Park at all? Spotted some top gaffs there!!

There's lot's of nice areas here, all have different things going for them

A few of us are on the South side, I am at Wellington Point, Mark_D is just round the corner in Birkdale, they are close to the water (Bayside), there is plenty of infrastructure, shops, pubs and restaurants etc near by.

Gary and Special Steve are on the Gold Coast, they could probably give advice about there

Nev, Craig and Danny are fairly nearby too, I will let them sing the virtues of their suburbs,

There are bad suburbs to end up in, but one of the guys who has been here longer could probably give better advice on them

I will send you an email listing the various suburbs we looked at, all of which were good

Highland Park is at Nerang on the Gold Coast about 10mins from my place. It is a very nice location with views of the ocean but is about a 20min drive to the water. It is close to the main North-South Motorway so it is easy to access all areas.
The fact that it is adjacent to Nerang is not so good as Nerang is "low rent" and "high crime" which makes Highland Park the most popular spot for the local Nerang "Tea Leafs"
