I was 19 when I bought the car and I think I spent 4 or 5 grand on idiots who reckoned they knew the engines before I found one that got it right and found that the sleaves were moving and the head was stuffed and then it cost me another 9500-10000 to get it right and last I heard the thing was still going strong but I sold it as the MK2 was taking over but I just wished I kept the purple one now

Hi, Hillcrest Brisbane, first escort bought new in 1973 was a real mk 1 mexico, was a special order from my local ford dealer in Christchurch NZ,
loved that car and only sold it to fund the purchase of an arched mk 1
rallycar (bad mistake).
Guy that i sold it to still has it and has only recently had it restored back to original condition, rotten bastard wont sell it back to me.
