Firstly thank you everyone for the phone calls and emails. It is very much appreciated. I'll be fine, but do have a very sore neck and will no doubt sport a set of very impressive GT strips across my chest in the next few days. Seeing a physio in the morning to start the healing process.
As for the car, well lets just say I'll be back to 100% a long time before it is. It is extensively damaged, not irreparable but will take lots of work.
Basically the throttle stuck open going into the second loop. I was really up it as the tyres had warmed up and it was gernerating lots of grip. I lifted off the throttle to dab the brakes then realised it was still going. You don't have much room at the top and in a split second I hit the embankment on the drivers front. It was full noise in second so I'm guessing 80k +. Must say it was an abrupt halt and not something I'd recommend to anyone. But all the rescue crew and ambo's were great, and the support of everyone there was incredible. Big thanks to Brad, Gary & Catrin who organised the car to get home, my Crewy and trailer, and Brad's wife Berenice who picked up my wife & kids and took them to the hospital with me.
At the end of the day, it was just one of those things - that's motorsport. It could have happened anywhere, unfortunately Mt Cotton is not one of those places where you want it to. But I'm OK and able to fight another day.

Well it's time for a little update.
A couple of weeks after the crash I got a few mates over and we stripped the car ready to go off to the panel beater. It's gone to Sydney to Frank Binding who runs a prestige smash repair shop on the north shore. Frank has a Grp C Escort plus the Army Reserve Falcon and really knows his stuff.
Frank sent me some pics today, and after a couple of days on an Autorobot I must say the results are fantastic. There's still a lot to do, but it looks a lot better than it did a few weeks ago. He's saved the roof and A pillar, the transmission tunnel and floor, and he's still working on the firewall and inner guard and rail. He said that if you'd been at Bathurst and had that type of accident on the Thursday or Friday practice, it would have been fixed by Sunday. It wouldn't have been pretty, but you would have made it!
As for me, I've still having physio on my neck - 5 weeks later! Have about 95% movement back, just that last little bit to go. But things are looking up after the photos today from Frank.
