I had a chat with Rod Barrett the GM of FPV who advised to put pressure on the Ford Dealers to put pressure on Ford to import the RS Focus. FPV are staying clear at this stage as there is some politics around the badging of the car if it was sold in Australia. FPV do not display an oval Ford back on their cars. This is replaced by FPV. Anyway, we have not given up. I would like to add that FPV and my local Ford dealer principal Andrew Butcher were very aware of the RS Focus and would love to see them here. On the day I was also lucky to chat with Steven Richards about his passion for RS Fords. The Ford RSOC of Australia are also doing there best to pass on the RS Ford culture that still remains in Australia.

I am amazed to see Ford Australia bringing this over :shock:

And it isn't even much more expensive than the UK version (about $12k at todays exchange rate) which compared to other manufacturers special antipodean markup is pretty good.

I would love one of these, but unfortunately I don't have a spare $60k either

I did consider a XR5 at one stage, but I don't like the way the 5 door looks, who knows, maybe Ford will start bringing the 3 door version of that over too

Yeah but really why would you spend that much on a front wheel drive when when you can go and buy a Mitsubishi Evo or an Sti Subaru for similar money because I think you'll find that only the die hards will buy and the rest of the buyers looking at a quick car will look Japanese.
Ford should have pulled their heads out of their arses and done this with the Escort Cosworth and at least it would have been more successful and made them inclined to do it again
