Sidedraught Carby Speacilist - Brisbane

Evening All,

We new to Brissy and would like to say Hi to all. We have a 74 4 door with 2lt running gear and am looking for a respected mechanic in Brissy who knows there way around eski's running pintos snorting a single 45mm side draught. As I can't get her to idle smoothly; however, runs fine when on the road but doesn't like to idle even after it's warmed up. Idles rough all the time. I'm unsure of cam spec and what jets and choke sizes are, as I was told when I bought the carby it was jetted correctly for standard 2lt pinto.

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

marty & jen ,, as nice as a single 45 dcoe sidedraught sounds
i had this setup for many years & even when i had it tuned
"just right" it was never as nice as a 38 DGAS v6 capri
downdraught setup , i reckon there would be very few disagreements with almost anybody on this forum
the sidedraught possibly made more power at full revs but was never
able to get a good all round setup

If you've got STD head with just a cam and pipes you will find a 38 or 40 downeraught will out perform with better economy than single or twin carbs especially 40's
