Hi All
I'm finding difficult to get my head around the cost of standard rear shoes for my MK1 72...
I might be out of touch but $90-100.. for standard shoes..??? repco....

I know sometimes you have to get them re- bonded etc....
Anyone have any....or point me in the right direction...

Someone said going to a mk2 backing plate with shoes might end up a cheaper alt..

May just look a rear disc conversion..??

Just went through all this myself. Turned into a major major of course (nothing is ever easy)!!

I paid about $30 a shoe (oversized) and got a skim out of the drums

I paid $50 for a set of Bendix shoes a fews ago.

Mk2 drums are do-able and have the added advantage of some extra braking, but only really good if you have Mk2/Capri sized fronts as well. Mk2 wheel cylinders are different thread to the Mk1 so you'll be up for some brake line mods too. From memory there's a slight difference in the handbrake too.
