Alfa/pug Rear disc setup

Anyone have any info on the alfa caliper, pug rotor setup for the rear of a mk2?
these are the 2 pot calipers

yeah, i often wondered if other people were saying it wrong, but i have heard of the alfa calipers being used?? danny weren't you using them on the rear? the brembos.

just i can get calipers, and the pug discs are 4 x 108 so only thing to do is mounting brackets.

Alfa 105 disks are common because (a) right PCD, so they just slip on (with longer studs) and (b) they have a good offset to get a caliper to work.

I have these on my MK1 (mk2 rear end) with Commodore/Pintara calipers. Someone here (Danny?) had warned against using twin piston calipers on a standard rear end as with the standard bearing/axle set up the disks can walk a bit and lead to pad knock off with twin piston calipers. A single pistion/sliding caliper gets around this. I only used Commodore calipers because they will be easy to get bits for and they use a simple radial mount (ie easy to make brackets for).

As Shaun mentioned, fixed calipers on a semi floating axle will suffer from pad knockoff when hammered through corners.

Full floating axles are good for any caliper choice.

Sliding calipers like the R31 Pintarra/Skyline cope best with semi floating axles.

The pug 504 calipers are a sliding design with differences to the Skyline type. From experience of having 504 calipers on Corolla Discs with a semi floating LJ torana diff in an Escort, I can tell you that pad knockoff still occured through hard cornering.
