This seller is relying on people confusing him with Argo Engineering which he is not. I'd be asking for proof that they are made here. The rods look identicle to those made in China...what is it they say... if it looks like a duck and quacks,it probably is a duck!!
Cheers,
Phil. _________________ More Boost!!! |

Phil in all reality he is probably supplying a better product than Argo but then again I'd sooner use a Datsun rod than either of them!

Hi Danny,
I am new around here so forgive me if I cover old ground but I am trying to understand the love of old Datto rods. Logic says to me that you should find a better solution in a modern specialised performance rod, better metallurgy manufacturing tolerances? I would like to understand the reasons behind this preference, any pointers welcomed?
Thanks

Hi Darren,
Thanks for the read.
I hear allot of people talking the same way about Datto rods, I have nothing against them mind you, I am not Datto phobic, but I don't get why a production OTS car rod would out perform something like a Carrillo or Farndon rod designed specifically for the occasion?
..or is it just the cost advantage and similar performance that makes them so attractive??
Thanks

They wont out perfom a decent rod like a Carrillo, Olliver or a Cunningham but they will definetely outlast the majority of the crap coming out of China which is where alot of these rods are coming from and are definetely stronger than most of the billet rods out there as I would always take a forging over a billet

Thanks Danny,
I think I understand where they fit in the scheme of things. |
