Van is fixed

Haven't touched the car
Still need to get the foreign object from fuel tank, and have a go at the rear calipers, as well as change the gearbox and shifter

I may just fill it with fuel, bolt some slicks on and run it as is, not too worried about the brakes, the fuel issue is more of a worry in case it leans out.

Will see how I feel after some food and a rest, may have a go at some of it tonight

Nothing went wrong today woohoo!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed myself, was great to get out with my car again (been sitting around for too long). I really liked the track, has plenty to keep a driver busy.

I had never tried hillclimbs before, so wasn't sure how I would like it, but as I enjoyed myself so much I will definitely be back to try again.

Paula (the missus) and the kids came along too, and they had a good time as well, was good to catch up with a few people who were there, having a decent social side to these events makes them much more enjoyable

Car wasn't too bad either, despite the very tall (200mph) gearing, only used 1st and 2nd and worked quite well.
I didn't run this afternoon as I didn't bring much fuel, and really do need to give the car the once over, change the oil etc, but I was really pleased with how the old girl was running after sitting around so much, even the wheel spacers were OK

Didn't get any times as I only ran this morning, but one guy came up to me in the pits and reckoned my first run was a 53" so was quite pleased as it was nowhere near trying hard or driving well


Next time I will get some slicks on and see if I can get the hang of it.

I am really enjoying living here in Qld, should be a good year.
