RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

Hey Guys,

I'm looking for advice in regards to my alternator bracket on my pinto. Short story even shorter, the standard units keep failing on me (shearing off on the shaft). I've heard its a common problem with pintos, therefore I'm hoping there is a common solution?

Any advice?

Are you using the solid Lucas type bracket of the rubberised Bosch bracket

I believe is a lucus type, however the rubber bush did perish and I replaced it with a solid bush for a quick fix a while back.

Well I could have told you that would happen
You need a Bosch type alternator with two legs and mount on both

I knew it was coming, I expected to get at least 50Km from it though lol

Where would I track down a bosch unit?

I don't have a bracket surplus but you can weld them back together and the alternator is from an XF-XG Falcon and make sure you use some bushes, either rubber or urethane
