RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

I currently have a VDO 230.081 (now called 231.081 apparently) oil pressure switch which is listed in the VDO cattledog as being 25kpa 1/4"-18NPTF. THat's only about 4psi!!!!! Useless. I would like one that lights the idiot light at somewhere between 30-40psi so that during competition I will be alerted if pressure drops but not low enough that I don't have time to prevent damage.

Looking at the VDO listings it appears their standard switches are either in the 3-8psi range or 65psi+ (not sure what insulated return means on these ones?).

They list a "Brassed Case Adjustable Pressure Switch" 230.991 that ranges between 20-60psi. It has 2 spade connectors which confuses me (says insulated return so not earthed through the brass case?) and also does not show how such a switch is adjusted. Anybody have any experience with these????? It lists it as being 1/8"-27NPT but there is an adaptor (320.050) to take it from 1/4"-18NPTF to this.

Thoughts and experiences?

I have a VDO 430.135 which is about 35psi from memory. Three connectors open to ground then one is normally open, one normally closed. It works a treat

sweet fellas!! I will buy one and also a new pressure sender as I ripped the terminal out trying to undo the wire

I use the 230.991's and have Able Instruments pre-set them to 30psi as they're adjustable

I bought the same as Paul suggested but will look up that one too.
