Im using them in my race motor as are a few others i know and have had no issues. Just make sure you get them measured up and resized correctly before fitting. They are also Cosworth length so if using in a pinto will require pistons with the gudgeon positioned higher.

Depending on what your achieving, why would you bother with these STD length rods ?
A longer rod is the way to go.
Incidentally I am revving my Ford made [ std pinto rods originally] that have been lightened fitted with ARP bolts to 8300rpm.

I have a number of engines fitted with the Spool Rods.
Good Points: Bang for buck they are brilliant, I am yet to have one fail. They are far superior for strength to a Std rod, and at the price they are they are cheaper than fully prepping a std rod. They are 1.5mm longer also than a std rod. Coupled with a lightweight good quality piston and pin they are a very reliable set up.
Bad points: They are a little on the heavy side, and not as well finished off as more expensive items. Whilst they are longer than the standard rod, a longer rod again is better suited.
Check them for size and weight before fitting them, but over all for the budget builder, you can't go wrong.
