Howdy,

A persistent, rear, crank seal, leak, has led me to source a better seal.

The "Cosworth" rear seal is dual lipped.

Pinto seals aren't.

Doing some searching, they are available from cosworth.

Roger that is not a genuine seal as they arre a wide faced carbon type seal and do not leak!!!!!!!
Neither of those photo's are it
The inner sleave is just to protect the seal face until installation

Sorry for the delay, we are currently in the process of producing the Cosworth set, however it is still a long way off, these half moons are causing the delay, so we cannot help.

The cut-outs in the photo are the plastic protection sleeve for the internal lips of the largest Oil Seal (PTFE Type).

Interesting Roger,

I wasnt aware of the sandwich type sump gasket.

I have always used gaskets from Burton for alloy sumps, which were a paper/card type.
They work quite well, never had problems on pintos, but I do tend to get oil weeps on big boost YB turbo's once they have covered some decent mileage, but not just from the sump, from pretty much everywhere :roll:
