I need to clear out some parts so firstly I have the Pinto that came with my rally car.
I didn't build or have it built but here is what I know:
The head has been ported on the inlet and exhaust but it has standard size valves. The cam isn't standard but I cannot determine its origins, it has 686 stamped on the back? It has an adjustable cam wheel.
The bottom end has been bored using +30 ACL Race 9096 pistons (These are listed as a Holden Blue202 piston) using standard rods. The block has been skimmed down and the piston crowns have been machined flat.
The whole bottom end has been balanced and the flywheel has been lightened.
The guy I bought it off said it had been built by Goodman race engines in Coffs Harbour but I can't confirm this.
The engine is stripped but complete. I would suggest a hone, a new set of rings, some new bearings and she's be ready to go again.
When it was running there was no smoke but I would recommend using recessed spark plugs as standard ones were getting closed by the flat top pistons. It went well for the spec and had plenty of torque.
The engine is sold as seen, it has never over heated and everything looks fine.
I am hoping for around the $1000 mark but any sensible offer would be accepted. I'm giving first dibs here before shoving on ebay.
