Bathurst

Postby petervs » Tue Apr 02, 2013 7:28 pm

A couple of vids from Group N at Bathurst at Easter.
Camera mounted under the front tow hook.
Unfortunately a stone cracked the lens cover and crud got sprayed up pretty early so not the best quality, especially on youtube, but a good angle.
I will post vid from camera inside the car later which is much clearer.
Had a blast on my first trip to the mountain.

I drove down pit lane and immediately noticed the steering wheel was offset Michael. We had done heaps of work on the car pre-Bathurst so just presumed it was part of that. Colin asked me if I wanted it changed after 1st practice but I said not to bother. After looking at footage from previous events I've noticed it has been like it all along. At least it gives a good view of the tacho down the straight.
The low camera was a last minute decision. I borrowed John Haddens PIV camera set up which runs a remote camera. I decided to cable tie it to the underside of the tow hook. Unfortunately the camera glass got cracked in practice. Sorry John. I have since bought a new camera for John and a poly-carbonate protective cover for it. Better footage next time. Got some good clear footage from inside the car on the Drift HD
Cheers Peter.
