Little bit more done.
To fit the floor mounted pedal box, as I struggle to reach the standard pedals in the new seating position i discovered I might need to move the steering column as my clutch foot would rub on the column and push sideways onto the brake. In trying to solve this I think I can solve another few minor/major issues at the same time.
Ive wanted a collapsible column for a while and to correct the misalignment between seat, pedals and steering wheels. Why? cause I can I guess.
So with parts from all around the globe I've got a steering wheel at a nice 20 degree face angle directly in front of me seated low and centered, a floor mounted rear facing pedal box at the right distance from my hips so my legs are straight and nearly as important or maybe more important, the intermediate column allows for a 4+ inch dump pipe should I want to go that way.
Nothing binds and operates smoothly. Next task is to build proper upper and lower column mounts not relying on hose clamps and cable ties and extend the intermediate shaft about 20mm or make a new one. If it works as planned I might convert to a woodward sleeved column with clamp mounts...might not
All this without cutting the firewall
