Cut the stay and got a brand new set of base model headlights. Got to bog and paint. Need to find some mesh 15mm x 25mm to match or may have to make some. Any ideas?
Also put the doors on and mounted the mirrors (Grp A style Californian Vitaloni brand). Got to remove the old pin stripe from the door and give them a cut and poilsh.
Also got to make a few mods to fit the carbon fibre door skins.
Ok I managed to make some mesh to cover in the sides of the lights. Just got to paint black and urethane them in.
Also fitted the fire system. Will cut of all the cable ties once the urethane (clear) has set.
Also fuel tank progess. You are looking at the bottom of the tank. I have two sumps on the side each feeding (via a carter pump on each - chosen because they can be run dry and are reliable) an internal central surge tank which will then feed a pair of 044's. The internal tank will have some holes up the top to return to the main tank internally and the return from the engine in the top.
I am thinking two internal baffles inside the tank and 5 x 12mm holes top and bottom along their length.
Any ideas on if I am doing anything bad? Tank is 120mm deep and sumps are further 100mm deep. Tank holds 70lt or so.
Delivered engine to John Sidney Racing so waiting on the call when it is set up on dyno!
Not much to report. Half way through welding fuel tank. Mounted the carbon door cards and bonded in the mesh in the headlights.

No word on John Sidney yet, damn sprintcars have started to get busy. He was quiet when I organised it. No stress as he is not a man who can be leaned on and I am happy to wait given that I understand he needs the bread and butter business.
I'm afraid we gobbled up a day there with John on Thursday so hope it didn't hold you up. managed 624hp 488ftlb so ok result should go ok in 1130kg....
Run it in for an hour and did the fuel mapping to 4500 rpm and made 240ft/lb at 8 psi. Retorquing the head and running a power run every 500rpm on 4 different actuator springs tomoz.
Any suggestions for lambda values for wot 30psi? - was thinking 0.82?
Yeah I would have thought .80-.82 And why did they run it in for so long normally you would be done in 15mins and my YB less than 10 until the rings bed in
Mixed results on the dyno today as basically wasted most of it chasing a problem... grrrr...
The bad news I did not get any print outs or decent logs as was chasing my tail most of the arvo. Could not get any more fuel into the thing above 6500 no matter what i did (I am ringing UK at the mo but it seems I made a fundamental assumption about the fuel map in a pectel being in real world units (ms) and not referencing injector size). This means that my "base map" from UK in 840cc inejectors meant that with the 2200cc injectors that I used - the pectel determined 100% duty cycle at that flow rate (840cc) and clipped and capped duty cycle to that. Basically I had the engine mapped up to 6500 and no amount of jigging the numbers in that cell (and surrounding ones) could I get the lambda richer that 0.85 (I was aiming for 0.8) - raised the fuel pressure to 70psi to squeeze some more but not the right way of doing it. Attached a multimeter and got 40% duty cycle when the pectel showed 100% duty cycle. I know what you are going to say but I be fucked if I can find anywhere in the software where the injector size is inputted (I have mapped on autronic and motec before) and also a mate who does also could not find it either.... manual for software useless... strange as my pectel software cannot create new maps only modify existing maps (I am thinking there is a hidden menu or another piece of software). So this meant I was capped with 4 x 840cc of e85 fuel.
Slightly good news. No leaks. No destruction. 425bhp - 6500rpm - 28psi - safe ignition map (8 degrees) - 0.85 lambda
Anyone know anyone who knows about Pectel T2? Should of put a motec or autronic..... something about best laid plans.............. #@$%.
i dont know why anybody would even bother with anything other than motec gotta be a reason why its the most widely used & understood WORLDWIDE ?? it just astounds me
