RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

Hello. I thought it would be about time I posted some info and pictures of my Mk1 RS2000. It is one of the 25 and the only Diamond White one. It was raced by Bruce Hodgson in 1975 Bathurst race where it finished 13th Outright and 6th in Class. After that I'm not sure what other events Bruce used it for before he sold it. As far as I know I am the 6th owner. I purchased the car in 1998 as rolling shell painted and boxes of parts and finished it off. I mainly use it for car shows but have done some motorsport events in it.

Welcome to the forum. It's great to have you and another famous Grp C car around. I remember speaking with Bruce a few years ago now, where he originally kept telling you how he never raced a MK1 RS2000! You proved to him he did I especially like the photo of that car going through the Dipper with the LHS front a mile off the ground.

It looks beautifully restored and I'm glad to hear you get to take it out occasionally for a bit of spirited driving.

Not sure what you mean about name of Scrutnineer on the car but if oyu mean Frank Lowndes, he built cars long before he was a scrut.

As far as the exhaust goes not sure what you mean there either as the side it exits on (if that's what you mean) is very much up to driver preference.

My car was built but Frank and Rod stevens like the electrlux cars and had it's exhaust running out the passenger side at Bathurst 1980......

How about getting you car out on the track where it belongs......??? it would be good to see more of them.
