I don't know about Aussie rims and hubcap types but the obvious bolt on choice would be 13's off a Mk2 Escort.

Firsly welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a solid base there for a nice street car.

As Chris has suggested, the first thing I'd do would be to look at the 13" steel wheels off any MK2 Escort. Don't forget also that Ford have kept the same stud pattern right from Anglia's onwards (4 x 108 PCD) so any MK1/MK2 Cortina steel wheel will fit too, and quite a few of those had hubcaps.

In MK2 Escorts, the Ghia's had quite nice steel wheels with and outer chrome dress rim (see Gary P's Escort he just bought in Member's Cars) which would dress up the little MK1 nicely.

Lets us know what you end up with.

Hi Darren, it has been a long while since I looked at this forum! Stacked my little Mark 1 last October and spent a long time finding parts at reasonable prices (picked up a half r00ted front end for $100) and welding new panels. Looks good from afar, but far from good at this point at time... needs final filling and paint to finish off the repair.

I managed to find mark 1 capri wheels and am using mark 2 cortina hubcaps. The wheels are narrower than I'd like, I might get them widened if finding decent tyres proves difficult. Realise the corty hubcaps are a tad different, but for what I'm trying to achieve, they'll do the job.

I'll let you know if I learn more about this combo.

I've just come across this post while googling about looking for Lotus Cortina & Mk1 Twin Cam Escorts wheels offset,

Darren, I wish you were 100% right with your thoughts on the hub caps, it would make life very easy,

I bought a twin cam with those standard 13' rims (but it only had 3 on the car) with out the deep dish that we all like

and funny as it is, the 12" hubcaps fit.

I was recently trying to track a 4th one when I had an idea of buying the Mk1 Cortina or Mk2 and found the lugs that

the hubcap fit over would not take an Escort 12" so I saw this post and thought great idea but then I noticed in the image

you showed of the Escort TC ,it only had standard guards and the badge is in the wrong place, maybe Ford Printers were just being lazy,

I found this post of great help and has there been any other info brought to light since 2010

If anyone knows the offset for the deep dish rims we like ,that would be a great help,
