An interesting Question was posed to me regarding getting longer wheel studs by Steve K.
He has a Mk1 which takes unf and my MK2 rs takes metric.
Anyone know a good place to start to look for these..Repco? Bolt King?
Thanks

not sure about spacers fitted to the wheels unless they are balanced together .
but then again if yu do it to the hubs , then theoreticly they should be balanced too

"Bruce did these press straight in "
Roger they are pretty tight but yes they pulled through OK, better tight than loose!

Yeah I have definetly "pulled" metric studs onto imperial hubs before and it hasn't caused problems (although I used normal length ford metric studs).

i have seen a lot of escorts retire from motorsport events over the years due to wheel stud failure !
from an engineering point of view ?
what can be learned from this ??
attention to detail !
-EXAMPLE-
pressed fit
or
pulled tight
or
firm
or
sloppy
or
floged out
or
completely buggered ?
