Group 4 Homologation Papers

Hi All,

It's been very quiet on here recently.

Does anyone have a legible set of the Escort Group 4 Homologation papers (FIA #650)? I have downloaded a set off the FIA historic site but the quality is very poor (i.e. on the cover page you can't even make out the arches).

Cheers in advance,

Paul.

Thanks,

So Group 4 and Group B are the same thing?

These are the ones I found labelled Group 4 but appear to be the same as the link above (labelled group B).

Group B and Group 4 are different; for some reason the scanned forms in my link are re-labeled Gp. B but it is the old(er) 650 form.
If you are not in a hurry I can scan my original Gp.4 forms. Hope they will be better than the scans from the FIA site.

That would be great thanks.

We are building a CAMS Classic Rally car and want to run the Group 4 Forest Flares - the CAMS regs state:

"Wheel arch flares and inner wheel arch modifications of a type used on that model in rally competition of national status in Australia or FIA International championship status in the period are permitted. Evidence of compliance with such historic fitment may be required at scrutiny."

Have a look in the pdf on the FIA site: where are the arches mentioned in the homologation papers?
If you have a keen scrutineer he will see that the arches (the plastic ones ...) fit just beneath the swage line (Forest type) so maybe if you fit Tarmac arches they might not okay these.

For some rallies/races you need original FIA papers (with holes in the paper) copies are not accepted that's why I bought original papers from FIA London. Maybe the CAMS people are satisfied with copies I don't know.

Back then you had the homologation for say Gp.4 and also the Annex J for the year(s) a car was competing. Wheel arch extensions had a general limitation of 5 cm so these were not in the 650 homologation.
For example:

Complete list of Annex J's:
https://argent.fia.com/web/fia-public.n ... _265_a.pdf

I would the CAMS people what "proof" exactly they need.

We are hoping that the picture of Ari's car will be sufficient for the scrutineers but i'm just trying to get all other supporting documentation as well.

Thanks for the above - it all helps

Paul.
