RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

Hi Guys,

Have just bought a second hand set of the above seats and now the fun begins getting the bloody things in.

Has anyone installed these particular seats before.

Any photos showing what you guys have done to modify the seat rails would be great.

As my escort has the raised seat rests, from the floor, I was thinking I could just remove these and relocate them to suit the new seats and put the escort rails on the new seats too.

You have to be careful buying after market seats as the escort seat base is narrow, not wide like the one's you've got. Went through this process myself and ended up with mazda mx5 seats which are only about 25mm wider and wasn't to hard to modify - I keep the seat rails and drilled out the attachment bolt to the floor mounts, then increased the bolt hole to 8mm to take a high tensile bolt which was held tight in the slide track and doulbed as a stop for forward and back movement. Hope this helps.
