Team
Can anyone tell me the part number for the rear output shaft seal on a Mk2 Escort 4 speed? Any brand, just so I can cross reference.
I know I can just go in and the seal / bearing guy will hand over the part but I remember having a problem with this last time, and went through a couple before I found the one with the correct OD.
Cheers
Shaun B

Cant help with the part number but one thing is for certain, if the seal they give you has a rubber coating arounf the outside it will be too small. The seal MUST be a metal outer. The kelpro seal has been wrong for about 15 years and they still havent fixed it.
Best way is to take your old one out and take it with you to a bearing shop. You are certain to get it right this way.

Thats the one that is wrong. It is a metric seal and it needs to be imperial. That Kelpro seal wont even touch the sides if the extension housing.

1.375" x 1.955" (49.66mm) x 0.5"
I've used metric ones (49.5mm od) with no problems - but I always use loctite on od of seals
Cheers, Gregg
