Tyre Pressures

Postby Mk2RS+R32 » Sat Sep 19, 2015 11:40 pm

Watching the F1 in Singapore at the moment and there's lots of discussion about tyre pressures. I completely appreciate there's are a multitude of considerations, however I'm wondering if you fellas could state the tyre pressures you use for track tyre operations in your small Ford?
Around Barbagallo in WA in Spring/Summer (air 30-40 deg c) in my MK2 RS2000 (precisely 1000kg) with Bilstein shocks and off the shelf King Springs, front sway bay, no rear bar but tramp rods I've been advised 20psi is reasonable.
Perhaps data on your configuration and/or some websites to read up about this would be appreciated.
Cheers

What does the manufacturer recommend? The Kumhos I run seem to do their best at 30-32 psi hot, different tracks and types of day will need adjustments to the starting pressure to achieve the working pressure.

I would have thought 28-30 hot and 23-24 cold

I found 34-36psi hot was best with R888's on my RS2000 with very similar suspension setup to you.
I can only get 1 deg max. negative camber on the front though (rear is zero), so need extra pressure to prevent outside shoulder overheating.
If you have a lot more neg, then I'd say Danny's recommendation of 28-30 would be the go.
