Hi Guys,

It's highly likely I'll be heading East for next year's Targa Tasmania as help for my mates Mk1 Escort.

I'd like to take my young family over so we can experience a bit of Tazzy afterwards.

My plan is to head over to Melbourne and hire a large camper van for the four of us and take it across on the ferry a few days before the event and follow it down then return from Hobart a week later. Two weeks in total.

Does anyone have some advice or could point me in the right direction for the logistics for such a trip?

Take a look at www.targa.com.au and follow the link to booking the ferry (targa rates apparently). Play around with what type of car you take over as it makes a big difference to the rate. I would have thought you would be better off hiring a camper once in Tas rather than take it on the ferry but that's just a guess.
