Shouldn't have any trouble winning best restored at any RS concourse with that. If you wanted to be picky the front seats aren't German RS though. But its beautiful just the same. I love it. Well done BJ

Seats are mk2 X-pack option I think. Also check out the gp1 exhaust manifold too, rare & so fat! Just needs a set of those ugly mk2 spec Gp1 wheels to complete.

There was a mk1 rs2000 concourse condition (from what I could tell from pics anyway) for sale about a year ago advertised in various places for around 42000. It was advertised for some time before disappearing. Either sold or kept I presume.

It would be nice to think our cars are worth as much as the one advertised above..... But they're not.

Sorry have to disagree too Steve. Whilst the Mk1 RS2000 might be relatively rare in oz they are more of a garden variety in Europe. According to RS2k.co.uk they built around 5334 of them which is way more than twin cams and truck loads more than RS1600's. They may be rarer in Oz but it seems to be much easier to buy an RS2000 in Europe and for a lot less than a twink or RS1600 which ultimately effects our values here.

Peter has got it one - yes maybe only 25 here officially but a bucket load of MK1 RS's elsewhere so would put the Twink ahead of it in value.

i still dont think i am wrong , nev they seem like inflated figures of rs mk1 2000 build figures , there was shitloads more twin cams built over many many years & the only thing they had going for them was a lotus badge ???
on the plus side of mk1rs2000 is they were the very last of the model with all the latest technology & all the factory options !!! webers , bilsteins , rocket box , LSD , cibie lights
recaro seats etc etc ,

Last Twin-Cam I saw in VG condition with a fresh rebuilt engine sold for $35000.

In all the years I've been playing with Escorts I have only seen one genuine MK1 RS2000 at an RS Owners Concourse(naturally!) I believe 25 of each were imported in 1975/76 so they are at least equal on those terms. As to which is the better performing car I'd have to go with the MK1 which should be a lighter shell......

Which RSOC club concourses do you attend and refering to? These are where I've been and can remember seeing at least one genuine one. South Australia - there was one there in February this year! Perths' All Ford Day, a white one several times. Australian club(Sydney based)- there's been one there for about 11 out of the last 14 years and I remember at least one year there were 2 present ( one vista orange and one olympic blue private import), or Vic based Small Ford Sunday, probably similar 10 or 11 out of the last 14 years and one year there were 2 also (2 vista orange ones). I do agree that in Australia they are a rare sight compared to the number of twincams out & about though.
