I have never really been all that happy with my in-car camera setup.

I have a RadCam HD20 (not the older Pro model) connected with the supplied cable to a Stilo WRC03 intercom to record the chatter between the nav and I. The audio recorded is at such a low level that I have to crank the PC/TV speakers right up to hear it.

Does anybody have experience using this exact setup? Do you have issues?

I have run a few tests on the camera and I am inclined to think it is an intercom issue. Cannot afford to just go out and buy a new intercom so want to try to get what I have to work better.

I'm using a Terraphone Pro which is compatible with the peltor style headsets (I think stilo too). You have to crank the input mic volume on the Radcam to max and the volume controls on the Terraphone have no effect on recorded volume. I edit in imovie on a macbook pro and if the sound is too low i grab the audio and up its volume a bit.

I previously have manipulated the volume using movie editing software as you suggested but found that this introduced alot of noise onto the audio track.

I was going to try an inline amp before the Radcam input but haven't got around to it yet. I doubt if its your intercom that's the problem. I'm no electronics expert, but I think the Radcam is needing a condenser mic but the peltor and stilo style system use dynamic mics. The older style terraphone, *i think*, uses condenser mics, If you could get one of those for a try it might be better.

Came across this piece of kit that is for the Stilo WRC03. The audio jack on it is a 3 pin but the RadCam is a 4 pin. I expect I could buy an adaptor to fix that issue. Not sure what the 2 other connections are for though... http://www.nickygrist.com/stilo-wrc-int ... -272-p.asp

That could possibly work. I think I even bought an inline amp from Jaycar but never got around to making it work. Haven't grasped the 3 pin, 4 pin workings yet either. Like most things, it got to a point where I was OK with it and moved on to other needs. I need a year of 'rainy days' to catch up with them all
