Anyone know if a manufacturer is obliged to hand over the old parts replaced under warranty if you ask for them?
Specifically Ford.

Cheers

Oh yes, at least over here (EU).
Unless it is an exchange part like a starter motor or an alternator.

Warranty part usually have to go back to the manufacturer, if the manufacturer asks for them back. If they don't go back the middle man doesn't get paid.
Depends on the manufacturer.

Sorry ... overlooked the words "under warranty" ...
In this case those parts probably need to go back to the manufacturer.

I'm have a reasonable understanding of consumer law and I am under the understanding that no they don't have to hand them back. In some industries you can hang onto the item but that's more a result of the individual circumstances surrounding the particular claim.

But the short answer is no.
