In car Video Camera

I am doing a Supersprint at Eastern Creek next weekend and I would like to get some in car video. Can someone point me to a reasonable in car camera that can be mounted to the roll cage and a reliable local retailer.

I am cost conscious on this and really don't want to spend a fortune.

Thanks

I bought a RadCam HD20 for the Targa Adelaide event. The mount is extremely stable and day 1 footage was fantastic. There appeared to be some quality issues on days 2-4 which is strange as we didn't think anybody had altered any settings. I have not really had time to play around with it. Not the cheapest though.

Have you considered hiring a camera?

Thanks. I shall investigate.

re hiring; I'd rather just buy one, provided I can get a reasonable one for sensible money.

I think I might buy an Ion Air Pro; it is a new generation action camera that has been positively reviewed.

It has all of the features that I need and the video quality seems pretty good.

I have a contour HD and it is great. I reckon they are heaps better than the Go Pro that most people seem to use

The Drift HD range is also very good as the lens rotates so if you need to mount the camera on an angle or on it's side you can simply rotate the lens to correct the image. It also has a screen built in so you can see what you are getting during set-up and of course check playback on the spot. I have a 1080P and use mine for Mountain Biking and the footage is awesome!

I bought a Drift HD. There is a new model coming out shortly (the major difference being it goes from 9 megapixel to 11 megapixel) so the price on the current version has just been reduced.

Hi Brett,

If you need any spare batteries for the Drift, just look up NP-60 Battery on Ebay, you can get a twin pack for less than $10 with 1400mah, also there are external battery charges available, even with car adapters as they are the same battery used in some early Fuji camera models, great if you didn't want to use the camera to charge or you are away for a race weekend.
