RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

I thought I would share my current modeling project with you.

While working on doing a new set of decals for the Texaco Sierra I,ve been working I thought I would start on my Eaton Yale Escort.

While building it I thought it's not really a GRP 4 Escort, so I started cutting and fabricating my own GRP 4 bits.

Here are some progress shots.

The front spoiler didn't quite fit but a bit of bog will fix that.

Haven't decided if I'm going to tub the rear for 15's yet.

Not looking forward to doing the turrets.

Mart! too much spare time!! Have you built that shed to house the full scale one yet??

good stuff Marty..I hope to be racing my 1/24th Escort again. It has a custom slotcar chassis and handles like an Escort should....sideways! I'll sort some pics soon.

We had to lend the Prado to our Denise while their car got fixed, we got it back on the weekend. Now we can put it on the market to fund the shed.
I see this as good practice for the 1:1 scale car.

Have you ever heard the term "drawing a long bow" before??

Sorry Gary don't have time to draw a bow need to keep working on the model.

Decided I can't do a proper fuel tank in the boot so I cut it out. Then I decided it was too hard to patch the holes left in the wheel tubs so I cut them out as well.

You do have bigger things to work on........but it will be interesting watching the effort being put into this

The Prado is out on loan again so it's not on the market yet.
But I've had some time for more work.
Very happy with how its going.
I decided it was easier to tub the rear rather than patch it up so I started cutting then cut out the boot floor to do it properly as well.

And the shaped fuel tank.
