Alternator Query

Postby David W » Fri May 20, 2011 8:49 am

I've had an alternator give up the ghost. I can get another one from a local business, but I don't have the car/alternator with me.

I've quoted Bosch BXF 1242. Query is are the 'legs' that anchor to the block both straight, or does one have an angled leg? Reason is they have one from a 6 Cyl falcon on-site with part No BXF1243. They have another that is the same with different legs from a Nissan or something else

From memory its angled - but I have been wrong before (just ask my wife)
There are people who make things happen, people who watch what happened and those who have no idea what happened - which one are you?

The one that suits the alloy bracket has two straight mounting points.
The single leg type will not line up with the pulleys.
