Does anybody happen to have some CAD blocks for hose and fittings. As part of learning the tool I want to drawup a 2D version of my dry sump system.

which blocks are you looking for & how close do you want them, I have not seen (yet) any fittings actually nominated as speedflow or earls but there are numerous blocks from reece, victaulic etc that are very similar or could be easily mofidied
what version of autocad are you using? I would try to get a copy of MEP at least if not inventor if you like Autodesk products

i use autocad 2010 as I dont really like inventor (I think I go against the flow!!)
I will look at reece and victaulic and see what they have. I dont specifically need Speedflow I guess but I want something that looks pretty damned similar to their hose ends (straight, 90 degree, 45 degree), bulkhead fittings and adaptors. Basically any of the bits that go into the average dry sump plumbing.
Cheers

The only cad drawings I have seen that look 'similar' are the poly fittings from plasson. You might be able to adapt them.
Most of the time you'd be better off just drawing a schematic unless the dimensions are absolutely critical in your design. Having said that I'm not sure I can ever recall seeing any schematic blocks either.
Inventor Professional has piping and wiring modules which would probably be ideal for designing pipe runs and wiring looms. One day I'll have to learn how to use it. Trying to use normal inventor for it might be pretty tricky.

as a Chief draftsman I have to explain to management all the time that we write in capitals - we are not yelling at people
I agree with JP, I tell the guys the best way to learn a building or anything is to draw it, make it a block - even learn how to make it a dynamic block which makes life easier again

drew some blocks up late last night. Will be good enough. Not sure how to do hose yet but I am sure I can work it out.
