Seat Mounting Bars

Postby MK1_Oz » Sun Nov 07, 2010 12:46 pm

OK...It really is not my week. Trying to get the car ready for the cage but I keep finding reasons why I cannot finish those last few jobs.

MANY months ago I bought a Gartrac seat mounting kit. I cannot find the 8 square mounting plates that fit on the ends of the bars. Dont know whether I have misplaced them or if they never arrived (had a couple of other issues with that particular order :roll: ).

I will make up some plates. Anybody know what size I should make them?? The regs do not appear to give any specific requirements other than the competitor ensuring it is safe. I was thinking something like 50x50x3????

OK...maybe I confused people with talk of Gartrac. :D When putting in seat bars of any brand, what size plates do you use?

EDIT: I will correct myself. I just looked again and found it :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops:

Schedule C: 8. Where an automobile does comply with the ADR for seat mountings, the seat shall be mounted to the main
structure by not fewer than four grade 8.8 bolts of minimum diameter 8mm. Where the seat is affixed to an
un-reinforced section of the floor pan, each attachment point shall be reinforced by the use of a plate of not
less than 75mm x 50mm x 3mm thick;
