I'd be more inclined to blame the absent rubber bush.

rubber bush you reckon? i was a bit suss on that too.. wasn't sure if it was supposed to have one there or not

After you search high and low and can't get the correct new bush, cut down a TCA inner rubber bush and use that.

Anyway thought i would post pics of my fix for the bracket bushes..
Went down to pedders and the staff were very helpfull they measured up the old bush with some callipers and came up with some that fit perfect Pedders suspension for your alternator anyone? haha
They were quite steep being $29.00 for the pair but im happy knowing i shouldnt have any problems.
All you have to do is cut the lip off one side of the bush with a knife, They told me not to use a bench grinder because the heat can make it fail?? Use a bit of the supplied grease on the outside of the bush and it will slip into the bracket with ease!
